Zagreb Chamber Orchestra is made up of music enthusiasts who,
by performing baroque, classical and contemporary music,
wish to introduce the richness and beauty of classical music to a wider audience.

Through the International Festival Musica Maxima, and numerous concerts and tours,
the Zagreb Chamber Orchestra with its friends, musicians from around the world,
is trying to further encourage the love of classical music.

In 2004, Zagreb's violonists Mladen Dervennkar and Marko Madarić gathered fifteen young string players that have graduated from the Music Academy in Zagreb, and re-established the Zagreb Chamber Orchestra that Rudolf Matz first gathered back in 1937.

The quality of previous work is recognized in cooperation with soloists such as Maxim Fedotov, "Russian Paganini" as it is called by Frankfurter Rundschau, and "National Artist" in 2002,
Galina Petrova, Russia's "People artist" in 2001, and François Weigel,
specialized in the class of Olivier Messiaen, and whom BBC described
as a musician of rarely seen musical and technical mastery.
